Yes and the D6 my friend Lincoln just sold for $1850 was in upstate NY. He offered it to me but until I could get it running it was a very large paperweight, in hindsight I wish I'd worked a deal with him and put it out in the back of my property and worked on it there.
These darn Cats are like tattoos, you can't just get one!

Get off your duff and go check it out......anythings better than operating a "rocking chair".

Now those are true words of wisdom. :thumb:

Interesting looking hard nose on the D6 tractor in Idaho, doesn't
appear to me as being a Cat Hard Nose, probalby not a bad price if it is everything that they say it is, which would require further investigation SN# and so forth. I believe Old Magnet is right in that this particular tractor is to far away from your location.
Keep looking there may be something closer.
Cheers
Woody

I have a question:

What do you mean when you say ( Hard Nose Dozer )
.

hello Bumpus ,a hard nose is the steel that cover the rad and run down the side a bit that holds the rams for the blade ,normal crawler has lighter iron or cast side on the rad only .hard nose give the crawler extra strength to carry the dozer part.bruce oz

Hi, Old Magnet - and B4D2.
Sometimes, it's really great to be able to 'operate' a rocking chair for a while. I ackshully have a recliner/rocker chair which I maybe don't operate enough, perhaps because I prefer to operate other types of 'rocking chairs'. When it gets to be a drag is when that is ALL you have to operate.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

If in fact the serial number starts with the prefix 9U, there is no truth to the statement it was a military machine. The 9U was for retail sale and the military version was something else. And, I agree, this is definitely NOT a Roll Over Protective Structure (ROPS), it is simply a brush canopy to keep the limbs and sun off the operator. Another trick is saying it has "70% undercarriage"...does that mean 70% of the material is still there or 70% of it has worn away? The hydraulic cylinder arrangement looks like it was factory installed and it is not uncommon to have the 2 drum CCU on the back to be used to operate a pull-type scraper. Hope this helps.
