I don,t see any D9G tractors made in UK & the one made here in USA would be a 66A so don,t see a 66V listed. What I do see is a 66V is a D8K made in the UK starting in 1974

Hi Dave,the D8 is an 8R serial 6718 which i believe dates it at 1944.It was with the Royal Engineers until it was demobbed in 1960.I got the history from a chap steve moore who did an article on D8 dating in our magazine,who has been most helpfull.I will be putting the tractor back to its original army green when finished.Regarding photos my skills are not up to posting them but martyn has a couple that maybe he could post for me.cheers sprocket.

You are absolutely bang on S.J. , I should have printed 66A 2200, Built in the U.S.A. but like a " Midland Banker " I went and printed 66v , this N'o I know only to well is tagged up against the Glasgow built D8K, A tractor that I have poked about in every dark corner,also have the pic's to prove it, I am going back to the D9G in a few weeks to sort the oil cooler snag , also to pop on a new transmission pump, earlier in the week I had a phone call to check over a D9H tractor /scraper outfit at a private Quarry, as they would like to have the outfit refurbished also a unit hard cab fitted, so I should get a few good pic's if thing go O.K. on this job,

Hello TC, what do you think is a fair price for a set of track pads for a 933?

Haulage costs may be prohibative given the distance.

Martyn I would think they are only worth at most £200 pounds the full set , I can get a full set of part worn D9 pads for £250, ( I am on the case sprocket) , people often ask to big a price for something ,then miss out on the sale at a fair price only to thow the item into the scrap bin after a few years,the space is often more valuable that the item takes up, I know where 2 or 3 of those 933 tractors sit on the same site, the owner would love to see the back of them,

I have a new set of 20'' CAT grousers for a D5H series 2 with paint still on them if anyone is interested.would deal on deacent lgp pads or D8 ccu.
Have new D5H drawbar as tractor has ripper attatched.It will only end up in scrap one day.Have rebuilt starter for TS14B,think it will suit many GM motors.Sold scraper so will end up in scrap.Also Delco 50mt rebuilt for quick fix D7 or D8 donkey conversion.No more donkeys in D8's so it will end up in scrap.Both these starters were rebuilt in last 10 years and stored in workshop but a pre use stripdown would be advisable.Also have part broke D8 flat ccu's used as doorstops.These are free to loving home allthough a few pints wouldn't be refused.Have 435G kingball retainer ring which is new and a 463G kingball which is good.would look at any offer as they will be scrapped one day.Have some D9H idler bits free in the very unlikley event that someone wants them.
Basically,it's very unlikley that I will ever need the above parts again and I would sooner see them go to a good home than the scrap yard.I do have quite a few more desireable D8K/H transmissions and torque converters etc but would want the going rate for these as I still run a D8 allthough as it's undergone a total ground up rebuild I would be upset if I needed any more bits for it.
I will post the pictures of this D8 from when I started stripping it to its current state which is allmost ready.

Firsty Nicky L, People often say get the Upton donkey to fix this or that ???, sadly they are talking about me, I would love some help with info from anybody about the power units fitted to the Cat 60's I know they were first fitted with the petrol engine, some of these engines were adapted to run on LPG,(gas) by people after cheaper operating costs, then came the Atlas power conversion, as per the pic, then I have seen 3 different diesel Cat engines fitted , 1 has one oil filter as per the pic, another has 2 oil filters , the last has 3 oil filters as per the pic, what is the way to tell what model engine is what, these old bird's are something of an unknown marvel to me, I am very keen to have a good poke about inside one ,I live in hope???, finaly how rare is a 2 speed CAT 30,

Firstly,from what I gather you are no donkey so the next time someone calls you one in joke, tell 'em to try Finnings at £49.50 +vat per hour and see if they,re joking.Secondly,can't offer any imfo on your old gas tractors apart from that they're not all yellow!
