Mixed conglomeration of parts 5J

I have spent some time catalogueing some odd parts on 5J8827, 1946, rope start pony, Cat 2S hydraulic dozer, 9W817 front mounted Model 44 hydraulic unit.

left side- 4 roller track frame, 32 links, master pin is drilled and tapped, heavy tall rails, no part numbers on them, D3 rails??? front idler 6B8220 ~23" diameter
right side- 4 roller track frame, 30 links, thinner rails, (5B3129/30), master pin plugs are not drilled and tapped. front idler 1B309 ~20" diameter.

Carburetor- tag says 5F3630, can't find that one in the parts book and it has another fuel line fitting in the bowl below the inlet fitting????? Presently plugged off, where did that go to?

Magneto- Caterpillar tag says something like MJK 4/2-360A 47 and serial number 3A7765 looks about like the picture the parts book shows, but the numbers don't match anything I have. Turns out I have the cap and rotor, but need the points which are missing.

Any insight on the carburetor and Mag? Maybe I don't have a late enough parts book for this tractor.

Anyone want to trade a large spoked idler for my small idler or trade something for the large one I have? I have a lot of other D2J series and D6 9u stuff to trade.

D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time:D

CC, mag is a Bosch, D4 mag pn 7F9932, and carb is probably off same. Hole that is plugged was for a breather. Call Foley cat from the parts sources list above for the mag parts. I got mine there in 2004, prices were: points 4F2283 $17, rotoe 4F2301 $71, brushes 7H3885 $4ea(x3),condensor 5F7881 $12, cap 4F3685 $112.

You don't happen to have a hydraulic pump, hardnose and rams for a 9u do ya? Let me know.

Thanks, Jeremy

brownie, I haven't got hydraulic equipment except for D2 size.

I can help you out with #24 front mount or 25 rear mount CCU:D

ccjersey,

I really would like to find the hydraulic stuff. I have the blade that will except either and I have the hardnose and shieves for the #24 front mount CCU. Do you have all the brackets and linkages for the #24?

Thanks, Jeremy

Yes I have it.

The only sheave that it uses is the one that's already mounted on the hardnose right top corner. The normal cable hardnose and radiator guard is modified (torched actually). The control lever is on a tube that has a couple of supports front and back. It has new joints in the PTO shaft off the front pulley and a new seal in the gearbox where the PTO goes in. It was all on 9U14858 when we bought it, but I cannot keep the cable from breaking when I run it. I guess I'm just too slow and I work better with the slower #25 double drum rear mount.

The only problem it has is the cable clamp bolt on the drum has stripped out the original 1/2" threads and been rethreaded to 5/8 fine thread. This seems to have fixed the cable clamp letting the cable slip out. There is also some cosmetic bashing of the adjustment nut in the front center that was done by the blade because the trunions and bearings were way past worn out when we got the tractor.

If you're interested in a picture, send me an email through the board with your direct email in it and I can send a picture.

Hello CC, You wouldn't happen to have a Bellcrank#1F7631 and a Rod Assembly#1F7632 would you? I am converting my D2/3J to electric pony start. I guess I could modify my existing rope start Bellcrank and Rod, but I would prefer to locate the right par:) ts to install on the machine. Thanks. Joe Giraud

I might not know them if I did, but I'm relatively sure that they're not here because neither of the D2s have electric start ponies unless you count the fender mounted belt drive starter on the "conglomeration"

I need to dig out the pictures of it when I got it home. It was a sight!

here's the "conglomeration" in it's native state, just off trailer:D

note the creative use of belly pans from other (deceased?) D2's
