Congradulations!
You have a 1946,
www.antiquecaterpillar.net/ACF_v2/showthread.php?t=424 is a link to the D2 J series specs page over on ACME. but the shipping weight of bare tractor is listed as 6650, so less than 7,000 with fuel and dirt stuck in places etc.

Please post pictures and story when you can. I also have a couple of 5J's (
'44 and '46)to make one out of in my case.

D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time:D
