.I started the process of pulling things apart to see what I got myself into and after removing the mouse nest from the intake manifold and fixing the cracked lower radiator support. I’m stuck as to how to pull the fan blade off and replace the pump belt. Any input would be welcome manuals are on order but I couldn’t wait the two weeks. Just the kid in me. It’s SN 4G2884 also anyone have a diagram of the top end of the pony motor I'm trying to see how the carb attaches to the intake

Hi grayrat,
I don't have specific information on the 4G D4's but maybe this will get you by until you get your manuals. The attachments are for the 7J1-up unit which I'm pretty sure isn't going to be much different than your 4G.

Loosen lock bolt 4B767 then unscrew the rim 4B792 this will make the ''V'' wider so the belt will come off the bottom pully. The rim may be a little hard to free up you may be able to use a strap wrench on the rim and hold the fan blade. B carefull not to trash the radiator core! when slide the belt around the fan! Another quick method just cut the belt off so you have more room to loosen the rim. That's if you have a new belt.

Replied by grayrat on topic Thanks for the help
Don't know what I'd do If it wasn't for the support you guys provide. As a shade tree mechanic just having fun restoring old machinery, I can't say enough about the value of your advice and guidance. Thanks Again it's a great feeling breathing new life into old things. I’ll post pic’s as I go along.
