First check if it fits in the dash ok & then if the other end thread is the same to attach to the drive. Also check & see if the drive is the same RPMs on both by turning the main engine over one turn & see if the cable drives are say 1/2 RPMs or whatever they,re geared at.It seems older engine drives were half engine speed if I recall but not sure anymore on one of them. Also make sure the drive cable is long enough unless the original can be used.

A 627 with a working tachometer? You must really spoil your operators, Ive been running the B models for 14 years and have only seen 1 that worked!
We need proof they exist!LOL!

Hi Alan
I bought this machine last year and am looking for a second one for some work that we have coming up. We are getting the machine ready for this work and as I will be driving it I wanted it in as good a condition as possible.
Somehow I knew someone like you would come on the board with those remarks!!!!!! Do you know why the tachos never work? Because the price of a new one is £568 which I suppose is $1000, what a rip-off.

Yikes! Neil, that has to hurt! I wonder if a guy could get an elctronic tach sender, and just put a 5 inch Autometer monster tach in the hole? It would look cool......where does a guy find a 627 in Ireland? Plenty of them here, but I'll bet it's not easy where you are.
Good luck with your purchase, hope to see some pics of it before too long!

by the way, in case you might wonder why some folks call me "Flip", check out what some may call my best work, but don't try this at home!

You might have to register to view it, but it's a good forum. My work is back a ways....
