Does anybody have a source for D6600 rod bearings Cat # 3B7203?
My parts guy has struck out. I haven't checked with Cat yet though.
For a D6-2H s/n 2H7640

The D8800 - 7M, 3T. 4T
And the D13000 - 1H6852-up, 8R, 2U, 13A
All are using current rod bearing # 2M6499
I don't have any info other than Cat original part numbers prior to these models or for the D6600.
Hope that's some help.

OM, 2M6499 is $10.78 at regal, cat is $$74.72, they have them. They show the 3B7203 shows as invalid#, so there is a newer pn..

I remember while I was working yet that a good bit of Cat rod & main bearings were made by Federal Mogul & were stamped right on them as such.

Well, near as I can come up with is 2F2343 as the latest number for the bearings.....discontinued
took the number off the rod, witch updated to a 5B1294 with rod bearings 6B6483 and 6B6484 witch updated to 2F2343, another dead-end:mad:
contacted the ram site about re-babbiting the old shells

beaver-flat .. I trust you checked your crankshaft dimensions, to see whether it has an "early" or "later" size crankshaft.
New crank journal dimensions are 3.500" - 3.499" for "early engine" mains .. and 3.250" - 3.249" for "early engine" con rod journals.
"Later engine" dimensions for the 5¾" bore engine crankshaft, are .. 3.750" - 3.749" for mains, and 3.625" - 3.624" for con rods.
