I am searching for the part numbers for the cutting edge and corner bits on a D6 9U with the angle blade. Also where has anyone found a more economical source for cutting edge parts and bolts?? Thanks.

Can you post the serial number of your blade? Should be on plate or stamped in the upper RH backside of the moldboard.
Also the thickness of the cutting edge you are running. 3/4 in. HD or 5/8 standard.

Replied by SJ on topic Cutting Edges
KoO, Maybe the easiest way would be to measure the length of the blade & center to center of the holes & the same for the cutting edges. If the cutting blade has been turned you couldn,t get an exact width of it but maybe the other specs will help. I,m sure a dealer could get the numbers for you by the specs.

The normal blade serial number for the wide gauge D6 "U" angle blade models would be the 16C5001-up but the earlier 4F1501-4F2484 could also be fitted as well as later blades.

End bits were offered in 3/4 and 1 in. thickness as well as the heavy duty pocket type.

It would probably be best to contact Cat before you go shopping as I'm sure these numbers have been superseded.

Regal, Costex Tractor Parts, and Heavyquip would be possible sources for blade parts and bolts can be had most anywhere.

Once more on attachment.

Wouldn't accept 100kb file even though it says limit is 117kb.
Now at 75kb approx.
This doesn't work well for scanned materials that are already squashed at a 750 width.

PS. The edit feature is really great.

JoeG,
The parts number for a cutting edge on a No 6A Bulldozer (74”gauge) with Sn 4F1501-4F2490 would be 5F2648 or 7F3833 for the Heavy Duty. The End Bits (corner bits) for the same dozer is 5F747 end bit (RH), 5F748 (LH) or 6F1381 End Bit (RH) and 6F1382 End Bit (LH) Heavy Duty. I might add that the Sn 4F1501 and up is for a Hydraulic Dozer.

The parts number of the Sn 16C5001 and up are a follows, number 7F3833 for the ¾”and 5F2648 for the 5/8” one. The end bits are as follows number 7F7719 End Bit (RH), number 7F7720 End Bit (LH). Heavy Duty Bits are, Number 6F1381 End Bit (RH), Number 6F1382 End Bit (LH). You will note these are the same as for the Heavy Duty on the 4F1501 thru 4F2490.

The 16C5001 and up are for the 74” gauge as well…but are for the Cable and Hydraulic.

Has OM has stated above be sure and double check the numbers they have no doubt been changed somewhere along the line…but these will give you a start. There is two more sets of Sn for the 74” gauge tractors as well, number’s 3F1001-3F1799 and 16E and up.

I will also note that the cutting edge length for the wide gauge 6A Dozer is 113 7/8“, the cutting edge and end bit width is 8”, the end bit top length is 12 3/16”, the end bit bottom length is 14”, the end bit bolt size are 5/8”--11x3 ¾”, cutting edge bolt size is 5/8”---11x2 1/4” .

I would also add that the bulldozer cutting edge from a 8A, 8S, 7A or 7S dozers when worn down to there maximum limits on both edges, will fit and happens to be very near equal to the face width of a new cutting edge for a 6A, 6S, 4A or 4S dozers. The over-all length is, of course different, but can be corrected with a cutting touch. The only thing that could be different is the bolt size…the D8,D7's use a ¾” bolts in all areas
