This happened in an Iowa plant not far from Marshalltown that was a union shop represented by the UAW out of Waterloo. The union folks were all hard working and I never really figured out why they wanted to be represented by a union but the bottom line was that the union bosses (UAW) were more interested in their union dues than they ever were the workers. When it came negotiations time, the union BA was more interested in getting some things under the table for his boat rather than getting anything for the union employees. :( One of the most corrupt things I had ever witnessed and I only negotiated one contract with the UAW. All too often the union members think the union is doing them a favor but the union only wants their cut of the pay.
At the Teamsters office in Omaha, the office employees are not allowed to belong to a union!! That should tell one a little about that union!!

as for the demise of the D7 we towed it to its new home today. It now will reside in the bone yard along with 3 old 773s, a 992A model.

The company offered a $10,000 Cash reward to the person or persons who help catch this person for what they done.

To all the Pro Union guys a little to think about: The chips you eat from Fritolay are not all Union employee chips. As it turns out the plants that are not union have better wages, benifits, and moral. Fritolay has a team they send around to plants to get rid of the unions. Last I heard there are only two plants left that are still union out of tons of other plants.

When I worked in San Luis Obispo, CA most construction companies were non uion. That area seamed to have a lot more operators that had better moral. Now that I am up in Monterey, CA this area seams to be more on the union side and have a miserable moral.

I have also heard the horor stories of guys being put out of business because of the mofia uinons. Unions were set up to protect the employees and should still be there for the companies that arent fair to the employees. But the companies that treat the employees very well should be able to have the unions abolished without harsh treatment. Wasnt this country founded on people being able to have a free will choice???

I am not uinon and never will be. I cant see paying someone else to find me a job when I am perfically cappable at finding one on my own.

Here in southeast PA Non Union guys are getting all the BIG work, other than work in Philadelphia County (union strong hold). Largest Penndot contract ever was done by a non union contractor. Current 185 MIllion plus turnpike expansion project is non union. The fact that non union contractors are unsafe, paid poorly, etc. is an old wise tale. In my area, the non union guys have the newest and most productive equipment. Many have had GPS for over 5 years now, wow the few larger union contractors around still are doing it the old fashion way. I bet the union doesn't let them use GPS as it is more productive.
