Hi guys; Ive been reading the threads about pony clutchs having oil in them
When I rebuilt the main ,I went around a changed oils in everything.
(fuel pump ,steering booster ,trany ,final drives...) But when I pulled the cover on the clutch it was dry showing no sign of oil. But now I wounder:rolleyes:

But why the change anyone know?

I have an older D8800 power unit operators manual and shows two oil cups to fill at given hours of running but I just can,t remember on the later D8800 in the D7 3T SN so check and see if there is a couple cups to fill.

The dry clutches on the early side winder ponies use a clutch that looks like a miniature dry main clutch, single disc. collar, etc.
The pancake ponies use a multi-disc clutch which is much more compact in size.
