Hi there Sprocket & Martyn, well blow me it might not have been the correct tractor that we have stripped down to the bare bone, there is so many of those old bangers on the site????, anyhow its amazingly easy to pull those early tractors into hand sized bits compared to the later D8h/k tractors, it realy is the most basic Bird to work on, Martyn have you thought about putting in your offer for the 22RB, that is resting at J 2 of the M50 motorway, its owned by William Windsor Clive, he has the farm near it ,I have done a stack of work to this old Navey, fitting all new rope ,engine repair ,brake bands, etc it's driver was a chap called Gordon Richards, a right little tough guy ,he died a few years ago hence the Dragline is sat there waiting for someone to master those long levers, Gordon was a rum old chap he could cause an argument with a Saint,he is probably driving the "FINNIGAN" dragline now, you know the one with the half acre bucket , and a mile long stick,
Any thoughts on sending up the D9 to Ketton , also Martyn I was told that storm cleaned your old junk yard up,

Hello Tony, been looking at a 22 with a 6 cyl Dorman engine rigged as a crane at the moment. That one by the M50 must have been there for years, what engine is fitted to that one? The clutches will need freeing up as it has been standing so long.Looks like a good one though. The machines are parked tightly in the garden,8 of them.No chance of them being washed away

Karl,

That sounds like a good offer from Tony to share the transportation costs for moving one of your bits of kit to Ketton?

Although, given TC's love of 1/2 tractors, he may just want you to detach the scraper bowl from the 631 and just bring the tractor unit with you on the trailer?

I have worked out what Tony is doing with the D8, he is taking it home one bit at a time in his lunch box, just like the Johnny Cash song.I have been told he has a very big lunch box, mainly due to heavy lifting.

Martyn the 22RB, left on the side by J2 is powered with the Ruston 6 hole motor, a few people have scanned the old banger up , but have been put off shelling out any Cash because its parked on top of an earth Bund and the only way down is a steep ramp, I would gladly pop the old Bird down this bank and run it up on a lowloader for you, as I know you would fill your pants, I think they should name the street you live in " MORDOR STREET " (Lord of the Rings) I bet your neighbours love to look out on all your good JUNK, tracking in an 22RB would realy put your back garden on the English Heritage list, anyhow work on Sprocket to get some of his Big Iron up to the Ketton blast, I phoned Dennis the Pennis yesterday he does sound sad , all operations are off, this would suit me, as I know what he was going to have cut off,

Replied by tctractors on topic Wind back a few post's,
Martyn this may come as a bit of a " suprise ", but where that dragline stands, the very spot, was the last dealings I had with Will Windsor Clive & nearly the last dealings with Gordon the little tough guy driver, I did say that Gordon was a pack of trouble, well he caused a mighty row at the top of the bund over a simple thing , I am not well known for putting up with to much nonsense, this was a row to-many , I said well there is no Barbed Wire around the gate keeping me in , so I am OFF, W.W. Clive paid my bill and that was good enough for me, Gordon mellowed a fare bit after his wife cleared off, he sent me a bottle of whisky and we started to talk to each other again, but sadly he died just as we were getting along fine with the past forgotten, so if you want to know how much the old banger stands to buy ,see W.W.Clive, I do have his phone No, but you would do better seeing his eyes to talk dollars, I know that there is no-body local would drive it for him, so he is stuck with something he cannot even start up never mind drive, he also had a Komatsu D65e blade and box, it calved down and he got the local donkey to try to repair the thing , its still in bits after 4 years , and will end up in the scrap ,

Hi T .C.thanks for the offer but i would not like to see a grown man cry when we would have to release all those moths from your wallet to cover costs!Icertainly will be attending ketton on one of the days but as you know i am in the middle of importing some heavy armour from eastern europe, and would like to take it to kemble mvt show which unfortunatly clashes with our ketton bash.
