So, I sent the starter for the pony motor out to get repaired. A gentleman has the entire conversion to 24 volt electric start for 2400. Comes with everything you could need, aside from batteries and tray. Before committing that deeply, I'm going to see if the pony can get going first. If I knew the machine was more or less race ready aside from just the starter, I'd bit the bullet now.
While waiting, I'm putting in a new master cylinder(and hoping)and going to fix the parking brake.
I got the drum off the parking brake and found a gunky mess, as expected. I need to find shoes, or get these relined. And apparently I need a seal. Posting this to try to find sources on parts, and find out if the seal is some thing I can do in the dirt in the NY cold?
