I have a no12 grader with the d318 engine thats stuck. I have an opportunity to buy a 9u d6 that runs good. My question is, would the internal engine parts swap over to the stuck 8t grader engine? How about the entire engine? I dont have the grader engine apart yet (assuming its rusted stuck) just trying to assess how much I could use of it. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance. Oh, and I dont have parts books for either machine or I would just look up part numbers. The d6 serial number is 9u20170. Thanks!

Completly different clutch setup I believe. You need a couple of parts books to do some research. Someone here will know for sure. Grader engine likely set to higher horsepower.

This question has been asked before. Something with the bottom end. I can not remember, maybe as simple as the oil pan, but could be the crank shaft.

I was incorrect about not being able to swap engines on the oil clutch model, the basic engine is the same, and you will just have to use some of the parts from the grader engine such as the flywheel, oil pan, probably oil pump and other parts, a side by side comparison while doing the swap will be the way to go.

depending how bad it is you may be able to free it up and just give it a hone and a set of rings and bearings. pull the heads and fill the bores with diesel to soak.

the serial number on the grader engine is 8T10173. The serial number on the machine frame is 8T19019. I believe its an earlier engine in a later machine. I really dont know much on the history of it as it was given to me about two months ago.
