Hello everyone,
While I would dearly love to someday have a D2 Teale Loader, I doubt I will ever be that fortunate. With that said, I am told the Teale and the Traxcavator conversions eliminated the track frame equalizer spring in favor of a solid mount, to keep that track frames parallel. I am wondering if anyone has any drawings or firsthand photos of the conversion set-up/method.
Thanks Much,
Breadler

I took a Teale loader setup off of a RD4 a few years ago. It had a hard bar on it. I took this picture before I removed it. I assume a D2 was similar. You can also see the portion that bolted to the outer track frame just behind the front idler.

Have you looked in the library? There is a lot of information in the library. If it ever stops raining in California, I will try to get some photos of what is left of a 5J Traxcavator. There are some interesting small details about the D2 Traxcavator. The engine dip stick is on the other side of the machine than a straight crawler, which I assume means it takes a different oil pan. Also, I recently posted about removing a front pump from my D2 5J, and another member posted the photos of the correct Traxcavator mounting bracket for the pump. I believe that they are all 5 roller bottoms, one more thing to find for a conversion. Do you have a D2 already? What is your location?
Let us know what you find out. Grant.

I did not see the photos from CRS 93082 before I posted. That Teal set up is way different than the Traxcavator that I have. I had never heard of a Teal. You might try a google search for photos of a Traxcavator. They are not too rare. Good Luck. Grant.

Grant: "Do you own a D2?" LOL. Mr. Breadler is an up and coming "Hoarder" of D2's as well as other yellow iron...
I think he needs intervention. Too many enablers out there too! LOL
Just teasing him if he is watching...if you know, you know!!! JM

I just had a look at the remains of my D2 5J Traxcavator, and since Tailseat 15 mentioned the size of the front idler on the Traxcavator I measured it, and it is approximately 4 inches larger diameter than my other J model D2s. Another little bit of information for us fanatics. Grant.
