Sasquatch, thank you for saving me from the frustration of my computer. That is exactly what I have and it is on a 5J, but should work just fine on my 3J. As far as the bolt head clearance, I will go to allens when it goes back together. If I have to get the pump off first, I will drill the heads off, but looking again, the adapter on the crankshaft pully looks like it is a straight splined fitting. I hope it will slide off. The outer spline has a grease fitting on it, so I may take the zerk out and soak Liquid Wrench or PB Blaster into the hole.

Grant, what's your theory about how the assembly was put together in the first place. If a wrench can't be put on the bolts, will that still be true if you take the entire assembly off in one piece? I'm trying to think of how they put it together initially. There has to be a sequence that you can reverse
