An update on my transmission rebuild. I managed to get a good condition used pinion and crownwheel from Deaf Jeffs Cat parts in Towoomba. He was very helpfull.
It is the older model pinion and crownwheel, so I am in the process of searching for bearings to suit. Seems most of them are available from bearing suppliers.
I will post some updates as I go.

is that just corrosion damage it may be possible to rebuild the teeth with silicon bronze especially as this is a retired machine. ive had that done on gears with damaged teeth before and it got it the machine working again.
