Keep things clean and take lots of pictures if you are not familiar with the carb model. Clean all the passages. There is a long jet that should be removed before pulling the carb apart. Familiarize yourself with the Service Manual and Parts Catalog. Clean the jets and jet passages in the float bowl also, those get missed sometimes😳 . Yes I did.
Once the pony is running ... If the pony needs choke to stay running the low speed jet or passages are still dirty.
Unless you are troubleshooting be sure to shut off the gas and let the carb run out of gas to shutdown your pony. These pony carbs have a bad tendency to overflow if the gas is left on. Therefore is is best to run the cab empty of gas so the engine oil don't get deluded and ruin the bearings.
Good Luck

I'm not aware of any rebuilding businesses that handle the TU-4C but perhaps there are some - does anyone know? I know there are a number of magneto rebuilders.

I tried to contact the young gal that rebuilds Holley carbs; she and her little friends seem to have a thriving business. I was trying to convince her to to carbs for the pony motors too!
Usually a very good cleaning will do the trick. JM

agree with Neil and Jman.....99% + problems with carbs are dirt,., and dirty passages..then our nasty useless gasoline fuel....that breaks down and clogs as soon as it's left idle for a bit...
always dropping GOLD, all you have to do is just pick it UP !
