Caterpillar had a huge corporate archive in Illinois. I do not think that the records survived the transition to Texas. There has been no mention of them here for several years.

I tried for years to access information from the Caterpillar archives without any success. I wrote multiple letters and tried several other routes and the staff at Caterpillar did not even have the courtesy to respond and say no - they just ignored me.

Nothing archive related has moved to Texas

I attempted to find some records on a tractor several years ago.  I was able to talk to a couple people and found out that most of the records before 1953 were destroyed in a flood.  They did not have any serial number lists at that time.

Thanks for the Info. I have a 1928 Thirty I bought from my neighbor. The sons I bought it from had no interest in any of their dad’s stuff. But I heard from another source that it might have been used at a nearby dam and irrigation project at about that year
