Hi
Can you fit a PTO to a D2 5J that has never had one fitted from new? How hard would it be to fit one?
thanks

It isn’t difficult to install one. Finding one is the hardest part. Put out a feeler in the WTB section and cross your fingers. I bought a 5J once, just to get the PTO for one of my 5U series.

Send a message to Wally, he might have a spare to sell you. Installation is six bolts on the PTO unit and another four on the engagement lever bracket. You'll end up with your rear cover spare

If it is similar to installing on my 22, you will need longer studs to be able to get enough threads for the nuts. Napa auto sells them, so when you go to install, take one to Napa and buy 6 (or more) of the longer ones.
I also tried to buy a dereIict D2 to get a PTO for one of my D2s. It ended up as "Gone to the Scrappers". I always keep an eye out for sitting Cats.

Thanks for your help very much appreciated 👍
I'm from the West Coast of Scotland, I would be interested but not sure how easy and costly it would be to post over to Scotland. Finding it very hard to get parts for my D2.
Thanks,
Scott

Hello Scott,
you could try Fenland Tractors (near Spalding in Lincolnshire).
We also have a WhatsApp group for UK ACMOC members. If you send me a PM I will see about getting you added to it if you like.
