Well happy Friday boys and girls!
I didn’t find anymore #40 scrapers this week, but did get a neat Twenty L697, to stop any misleading gossip about me getting soft about collecting old iron.

A very nice neighbor/friend offered this tractor, on the condition that it stays here in honor of the previous owner(s). Not an issue, as JM was on the prowl for another gasoline powered tractor.

It looks better after it got a well deserved hot bath!

A few minor things and possibly it can go to the next show.

I need the advice of everyone on this one. What is right? Is anything incorrect?

We had it running 3 years ago, so it’s time to wake her back up. JM

That’s one fine looking 20 !
roof looks correct, all the sheet metal on the idlers and sprockets even has the early latches on the engine side covers and I believe that would be the original magneto. And an added bonus rubber pads on the tracks you can And I would drive it down Main Street Great find 😀

Juiceman -
You seem to find some very nice machines.
This one looks like it just needs the oil checked, radiator filled, gas in tank and run out of the show room!

Congratulations!
CTS

When I read the title, I thought "at last, a D2-sized Cat scraper!", oh well, back to the Onion : )
What's that contraption in the shed?

Cheers,

Thanks Jon Mark, I hope to live awhile to enjoy this tractor. I believe I'm #5 on ownership. It started out 15 miles from here, Pleasant Grove, CA only 2 miles from Lowell Coppin's place, went to Iowa for a restoration, comes back to Wheatland, CA, then Tudor, CA now here.
I would like to thank the Margery Magill Foundation for donating this cool 20 to myself and Cal Sierra Tracklayers Inc.(Chapter 15). I thought it was really cool that our chapter secretary laid eyes on it and pleaded with me to let her drive it in the Winters, CA holiday parade. She has never shown any interest in operating one until now, even though she has her own little restored 22 named "Sassy Pants". I really like it when the gals want to drive them (Skinner's wife is a perfect example). My only fear is Carol will want to dress the 20 up with fake eyelashes, a little hat and bow!
Contraption? I slipped that picture in by accident sort of; I believe it is an ATLAS apple peeling station. It was built in the 40's and was used up until recently. My customer is relocating to Washington state, as the apple tonnage has dwindled in California. In addition to specialized bulk hauling, I am now in the rigging business. We will move most of their plant, and the excess inventory will be disposed of. I have not decided to keep this, along with apple pressing equipment or sell off (mine for now). Juice anyone? LOL. JM

I think someone named juiceman is behooved to have a juicer sitting in the shed : )

Nice try guys. It peels the fruit, not a juicer. I am quite pleased with BUCHER presses however. I recall hauling fruit for many that used the rack and cloth system which utilized a 300 ton hydraulic press to squeeze every precious drop from the mash. Now that internal combustion forklifts are being banned here in Commiefornia, I will have some extras to sell/keep. I wished they had a classic TowMotor for me. I might have to build a museum next.
I have some small scraper photos for Neil, just to appease him. JM

Never mind what those other guys say, you're alright by me, Juiceman! : ) Look at those shiny D2-sized scrapers - very nice!
