Hello, I am trying to find an air compressor for my DW21.  I have a parts manual that list the part as 6H1629 but I can't find a CAT part or cross reference to that number. My serial number is 86E3106 series G. The CAT parts website does not recognize that serial number.  I'm sure too old   Any help would be appreciated.

Very often for these older machines, you need to ask the Cat dealer parts people to look in "Classic Caterpillar' for the older machines.

Some of the more knowledgeable people here may have better information that I have access to 'coz I do pretty much all of what I do here out of my head - LOTZA space to store stuff in there.

Also, what part of the world are you based in? There izza man inna parts store in Atascadero, CA. who just LURRRRVES chasing up parts made of 'unobtainium'. He has found odd parts for Cats for me and for several other people.

The blue color indicates that may be a Bendix compressor.
So carefully clean it off and look for a Bendix number.

The 6h1629 number is oké but check 1m1365 is air compressor group

Service Manual says it's a Midland-Christensen compressor.

86E3106 series G is the scraper serial number ,, 85E is the tractor serial number , parts book show 4 models of compreesors

what wrong with it might be repairable. is the drive gear damaged.
