After having an overheating 951B around here for a few weeks I’ve heard from several sources that they are known for overheating troubles. Was there something specific that generally caused this? Was it an issue from the factory or just one of the first problems to develop now that they’ve all got a few thousands of hours on them?

Hi, Breezy Hollow.
The impression I got from the people I spoke with about them seemed to think it was a 'built-in-from-the-factory-unwanted-accessory' - the 'nature of the beast' so to speak.
One of those people had owned a heap of 941s and several 951s, 2 Bs and a C. He said he could not stop the Bs from overheating and could not make the C overheat.
As I mentioned in your previous thread, I have wondered several times if an extra tank similar to a header tank but with constant flow through might have helped by increasing the amount of water circulating through the system.
Also, what is the condition of the radiator core? Is it clear of dirt and debris, including right into the corners? Does it have some bent over fins? Are the tubes clean on the inside or do they look alittle 'cruddy'? All of these things will not help the machine with 'keeping itz cool'.
Just my 0.02.
You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
