Hello everyone,

An older friend has asked me to help him with identification/application of his BeGe 850 pump.  I figured the long shaft may be a giveaway to someone here, but I have no idea.  Can anyone help?  Thank you.

Quite a few Caterpillar machines required either a longer shaft as in your photo or a separate extension shaft inside the back end to reach the PTO drive spline within the machine at the rear of the transmission - could be a bit of a PITA to get the splines lined up at times.

Just my 0.02.

My first guess is a International Harvester TD 18. A friend and neighbor ran lots of IH crawlers. The shaft with the male splines is the giveaway to me. As all Cats I have delt with had a shaft with a male end in tractor so needed a female on the shaft to the pump. There were a number of shafts with the splines you show in his scrap pile.

The bolt pattern on the mounting housing is right for IH TD 14 and TD18, and possible early TD15, as well as some Cat D7's.

But as you ask for applications, the pump itself can be used on any old crawler just takes the right mounting hardware.

Thanks for the replies. The IHC application makes sense as he has other parts lying around from both a TD-14 and 18. I know he also scrapped a couple of them.
