Hello Good People! I have what I believe to be a 1956 No.12 Grader (80C475) with a D318 and a wet clutch and electric start. A year or two ago part of the flywheel gear decided to give up the ghost. I pulled the starter and saw the damaged flywheel teeth preventing the starter from engaging and I have been having to pull it to start it since then. The machine runs great otherwise so I would like to replace the flywheel assembly and/or the gear. I am not pulling it apart until I can find a replacement part to fix it so I don't know exactly what I will be looking at once I get in there, but I know for certain the gear teeth are damaged. Which leads me to my question, does anyone know where a guy might be able to source a flywheel? After digging the through the parts manuals in the library, which is an awesome resource by the way, I THINK the part i am looking for is either 5H42 flywheel assembly or a 786253 gear. I am just not having any luck finding one online. Any possible leads would be much appreciated.

If you lookon the website Machinery Trader and punch in the number 5H0042 there is some there.
If you see a part number 5h42 yo must make it to a min if 6 digits foe example,
5h42 - 5h0042
S1594 - 0S1594
S509 - 0S0509

Would you need to replace the flywheel or is the ring gear replaceable, heated to install and driven off to remove?
Might it be a good idea to ensure the pinion on the starter is also in good shape so you do not damage the replaced flywheel/ring gear assembly.
