Want some useful information as well as some outdated info? Check out the "Operator's Hand book(comic)" 32 pages in the tech library. Grant sent it to me along with return postage!

So this raises an interesting question on my part. Examples of downing trees with a dozer that I have found on YT show taking out the roots on each side of the tree than pushing the tree over in the direction of the non-cut roots. As I see the comic above... roots are taken out perpendicular to each other on two sides and then the dozer comes at the tree from a non-cut root side. Is it me or does that seem counter productive as attached roots will be under the dozer?

I see what you mean, but if the drawings of the small trees in the background are accurate he is coming at it from the cut side. It does show a cut on the fall side so maybe that artist thought you cut all 4 sides. This is page 28, If you look at page 3 it shows what is the more conventional method. Osha would love these photos. They would probably have a heart attack.
