If your referring to the float bowl lid screws they are #10-32 tpi. Two at 1/2"length and two at 3/4" length. Run a tap to clean the threads.

a light smear of grease on the tap will trap any shavings or crud. its a old trick and it work well in blind holes. and it lubes the tap you can also use rocol paste etc too

Don't use grease. Use a proper cutting compound. Grease is designed to stop things cutting a tap is designed to cut.I know a lot of people will use grease but it can actually be detrimental to the cutting edge of the tap.
If you have an air compressor just blow the hole out with air. (safety glasses of course)
