This is the brace I used under the fenders on my 7U (shown earlier). 2" x 6" x .25 steel tube cut on the roll-in.

This is not roll over protection - strictly overhead protection - from falling objects.

Will, thank you for that image. What if I should make a set of similar triangular pieces and weld them to the fender and spread the load to all the fender mounts. It seems to me from an engineering prospective that the shear of several of the bolts (1/2" ??) should be pretty strong. As you said earlier, maybe not strong enough for roll over protection but would protect from pretty large limbs falling. Elton

Hi, Elton.
IF you can see a way to build mounts coming up from your drawbar swing frame mounts, I think that would be a better bet. How-wevver, the beefed up fender mounts would be a step in the right direction.

I wouldn't bet on welded-on braces spreading the load to all the fender mounts. I think even the heavier fenders would bend under a 'good' hit. But the more of those bolts you can use one fender mount each side, the better.
