Hello, We are planning a trip through the States end of April.
Last time we visited the santa margarita show, and traveled through CA.
What can you advise me where to go to and what to visit?
The goal is to meet caterpillar enthusiasts and maybe bring some iron home.
We are looking for a 212 grader, late model and a no 40 scraper.... so any tips are welcom!
Planning to be in the states for about 14 days.

Nielske, Jeff Huff has a fairly extensive boneyard in Honeoye NY so if you're over east, that could be somewhere to visit. If you want a #40, go see Juiceman : )

Hello Neil! Thank for your reply, the idea is to
finish in Chicago, so we can visit peoria. The rest is open east or west.
Visiting juiceman is a must if we talk about a number 40..

If you can sign up for the Caterpillar show at the training center and a tour of the factory, you'll really enjoy those
Cheers,

there's lost of spring show on the east coast. lakeside sand and gravel is the end April. national pike in Pennsylvania has a spring show as well. Zagray Farm Museum, rock busters you could go thought the HCEA buildings with a phone call to let them know you coming and well you can't forget the earthmoving legacies center that could take a hole day. I know of a few 212's in the northwest part of north Dakota. I sure someone from out east can tell you better.

The Earthmoving Legacy Center in Elkader, Iowa would definitely be a good stop for you, located about 3.5 hours from Chicago or Peoria. There's some good tractors to check out at the Heartland Museum in Clarion, Iowa as well (Larry has a Late Stockton Holt 75 that is beautiful, among others).

Darn you Neil, for throwing me under the bus! Just kidding; If these gentlemen are nearby, they should definitely stop by the California Ag Museum and get a tour of their collection. I am sure Nicole would be honored to have them sign in as guests from the Netherlands. I suppose window shopping for a 40 here is okay, but for some reason I keep accumulating them; I did let a really nice #60 go down the road last year. Motor grader? Hmmm, I have an 8T here that rarely gets used. Maybe bring LOTS of $$$ and see what mood I may be in!
Micke Grove in Lodi, CA has some cool stuff to view as well. JM
