Had a great day at Morgan plowing bee on the Palouse hills in Whitman county Washington near steptoe butte. Posting pics of various tractors I was near and around. Please don’t be to critical of me, I left the kittys home and brought our mighty little AC HD5 to the ball! Hopefully you enjoy the pics

What a great group of pictures!! Love the green steps on the Allis!! Good way to improvise!
Still amazes me the steep contours in your area compared to our flatlands in KS. .

That looks like a very enjoyable time. I like how all the tractors are weathered but not rust buckets.

Thanks for posting the pictures, I think there were 31 tractors plowing, the smallest being a Farmall Cub and the largest being the two RD7’s. I will try to list the tractors.
D4 7U. (2)
D4 C
Diesel Thirty Five
RD7 (2)
Sixty (2)
TD9
TD14
HD5
HD7
Allis Chalmers M
John Deere 40
John Deere 420
Farmall H (4)
Farmall Super C
Farmall M
Farmall Cub
Ford 8N (2)
John Deere H
John Deere A
John Deere 630
John Deere 2510
Case S
Massey Harris 30
Farmall Super A
Looked like about a hundred acres was plowed, not bad considering the newest tractor was about 60 years 9U’s and the oldest was 96.
Hopefully remembered most of them as usual I was too busy talking to take pictures. Mike

Big time fun! Sigh of relief... I have orange as well as red, not to mention shades of "yellow" that vary! We don't judge! I like the steps on the HD-5 also, as I get older and fatter, it becomes harder to get on/off a crawler. Looks like folks knew what they were doing, and not making a mess of the field.
Some of us might disc up a pumpkin farm in 3 weeks, as it is time to plant winter wheat and they need to get ready for next years tourists. I might just have to bring my JD rollover.
Did the kid get his fill of "screaming GM" or did you have to pry him off of it? Thanks for the photos as usual. JM

Thanks for the picture. Now that I looked closer how many of those old crawlers have not been hot rodded. 😉 Rather than ask how many have been.
Yes I am a AC guy as well having done lots of hours on a HD 5. Looks like you have more than 2 cylinders.

Was a fun day at Morgan’s Plowing Bee ! I had a good time talking to the older guys about the good old times we’ve all had in our life times and all the old machines we have operated, what struck me yesterday was all the young people out plowing and having a bang up time doing it! Young or old everybody had a fun day I hope it continues on. 17afarmer

Hey Neil thats a 3-71 upgrade, I know of around half dozen HD5's left around me that were all made into 5 1/2 or 5's with HD7 engines. I know of only one HD5 in my part of the palouse that wasnt hot rodded.
