I was flying out of Whitehorse (Canada) this week and I saw this old girl still earning her keep as a tug at the airport! Not the first use I'd think of for a wheel loader, but I guess it works and there are probably plenty of them laying around up there from the mining industry. The cold start (even with the temperature around 10 degrees C) was smokily spectacular - you'd definitely be using ether in mid winter!.
Note: when I first made this post for some reason the forum used the title from my previous post, so sorry for any confusion. I thought it best to delete and re-post.
212 grader, 301.5CR excavator, 226B3 skid steer (and fingers crossed a D6 8U coming my way soon!)

Hi, LangdonStevenson.
Neat. Thanks for sharing.
What's the latest on the D6?
Just my 0.02.
You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

I wonder how it compares weight-wise to a regular tug for a plane that size

Hi, Neil.
My best 'guesstimate' - about 16 long tons.
Just my 0.02.
You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Hi Deas, I thought the group might like it!
I haven't been able to get back up to the D6 due to work since my last post. In that time I've also had some negative health development (my back is wrecked and is slowly getting worse and worse) that mean I'm going to be getting out of my earthmoving business. I might still keep the 212 grader and also resurrect the D6 as I have some stuff I can do with them, but they will have to go in the long term sadly.
