Hello all
Just another odd question about a drip, actually a steady drip. The service manual calls the brass fitting and tube out of the side of the transfer pump as the overflow tube. Well on my dozer, it seems to 'overflow' a lot. How much should be normal. It seems rather wasteful. My tank shutoff seeps, and I need to find a replacement. Someone had added a compression fitting up front, so I replaced that with a shutoff. When off, that stops the 'drip' after a while. Maybe this is the best I can hope for.
Thanks
Ron

Sounds like you might need to rework the transfer pump. It is normal to drip some but not very much if the transfer pump is OK.
How much does it drip in say an hour?

If I forget to shut the fuel off, it will drain several gallons in 2 weeks (approximate, I did this once). Generally, it is always wet along the oil pan, below the transfer pump, sometimes down to the oil drain plug. Always leaves a brown spot in the grass. Since I added a second shut off valve, it stops the ooze an hour or so after shutoff. Sound like seals by the shaft. It is dry around the pump and housing.
