D4C 40A transmission question

More

Asking for a potential new member:  The gentleman found a super clean 40A series D4, 17xx serial; the transmission tag shows 9H5822.
My question is, which transmission might he be getting? Is that the optional higher speed or lower speed variation?
It has a CAT factory blade on it btw, with the triangle lift arms.
It would be nice to know what he might be purchasing.
I used the library feature here to get the speeds and drawbar pull ratings.
Thanks in advance. JM

For some unknown reason my 40A parts book (1973) does not list the 9H5822 transmission group although I believe it's a good number.
Transmission coverage ranges are 40A1-4263, 40A4264-4289, 40A4390-up
There is a low speed gear  attachment option group #1M9569
I would think the 9H5822 group is standard for the s/n

Thank you Pete: I am glad you chimed in. I cannot remember where my 40A books are; at least the library brochure had the speeds for the two variations.
***Looked for you last weekend, you missed out on a good feed at John Perusina's open house/meeting***Hope all is well with you***Thanks again. JM

Hi Juiceman,
Yes, I'm sure I missed a good feed. I saw your earlier mention but I got bogged down on just how to respond.
Every things good here but I must confess I don't have the enthusiasm for things Caterpillar that I once had, especially in light of local chapter demise. I guess I became spoiled with the Glenn G. days when activities actually involved operating equipment. Thanks for your concern. OM

Juiceman,
From what I can find that 9H5822 looks to be the standard 1.6 first gear 5.5 fifth gear transmission. The optional low gear group looks to be 1M9569 which is 1.4 first gear 4.8 fifth gear transmission
Hope this helps
