If you call, the phone will be answered by a volunteer board member, if they are on another call, your call will be returned as have many, many calls that members have made.
I have just re-sent you the email newsletter, if the email address you have on file with us is correct, you should have it.
My response isn't nasty, just factual. It seems that most of your posts are primarily aimed at taking a jab at the operations of the Club, and usually, based on partial information. The newsletter is a good example, there is no other page to open, it is not a replacement for the website or the magazine, just another club service that some volunteers have taken the time to put together and get out to everyone.
My original request for feedback is to gather information about the content and whether it is relevant and what members would like to see in something like this. There has been limited, but thoughtful responses that will be taken into account.
This Club operates 100% on volunteer effort other than a few services we hire such as website maintenance and magazine publishing. Even in those two cases there is a lot of time invested by volunteers. I'm cool with constructive critique, it helps us get better.
There is no other Caterpillar club that comes close to offering what ACMOC does to its members, and we continue to work to make it even better.

Newsletter looks good, and promising. Personalising the subject line is a good idea, it made me do a double take before passing it by; so probably more effective.
The youtube channel is really good so far Kurt! I would love to see some shortish videos of in prgress restorations or machines being worked on/repaired. I think that's missing so far, and can be popular. Also would love to see information/videos about historical prototype or unusual machines (humpback 30 / prototype D10 etc).
'First start' videos seem to be super popular even though they're not quite my cup of tea.
Not sure how far you stoop in the pursuit of views. There seems to be a formula for popular mechanical videos (exaggerated title or byline, animals in the thumbnail, blow ups or things breaking, careless/unsafe behaviour). Views based on this formula might not translate into memberships though. I presume at some point youtube revenue becomes significant.
Paul.

Busso - You will be getting a paper copy! The printing was delayed, but on track now and getting ready for shipment. We have done some work on the "system" and fewer of the email newsletters should end up in spam from now on.
Member 2103 - take a look in your spam just in case! We will have more on YouTube and I am glad you are liking it so far. I have to say, that D7E is a sexy beast if you haven't checked it out yet.
Anyone can submit photos and video at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. I'd like to highlight some member machines in the newsletter including projects, forlorn lost causes, restorations, and the old girls in their work clothes, all are welcome.

Haus - All good ideas, however, we want to stay in the lines of the Club's purpose of education and promoting the hobby, so some of the stuff that you aren't too keen on, we aren't either - we don't want to be stooping! (or stupid-ing)
I'd love to get some restoration footage and the back stories on some unusual machines, if you (or anyone) knows of some interesting stuff, send it my way and I'll look into it. Those definitely fall into our mission here.

The newsletter has been handy for many that do not take the time to peruse the Bulletin Board/Forum.
A nice way of saying hello sort of speak, and personally like that it reminds me when my membership comes up for renewal.
Very much like the YouTube videos, and can’t wait for more. JM

the idea of a monthly newsletter is a good one to keep people updated in between publications of the club mag. which takes a lot of effort and is costly to do hence why its a bimonthly publication. if people were willing to have a lower production quality ie not a heavy paper and not as glossy we could have more issues prehaps. but on the same token more issues requires more content and takes more time imput from the editorial.
so the idea kurt is this is more a whats on, latest info type of deal. it could have its own name. a machinery club near us has the rattle and bang as the title of thier club missive.

TK - good deal. I have heard from a number of members that they would like to see ore about what other members are working on, completed, thinking about, etc. and I'd be interested in that too. I'd like to see the newsletter highlight member projects/machines and/or usage, so send me what you are up to or leads on what others are doing. Photos always welcome at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. !
Anyone going to a show please get some pics and I'll always take video footage. If all of us participate, we will all enjoy the result!!

I've been checking my email and spam file every day, still no newsletter. I like the YouTube feature. I especially enjoyed the D7E one.
