        Need help identifying if this configuration looks correct to anyone else radiator cap style and engine style remind me of a early 5j D2 but data tag says otherwise and dash looks like it has been butchered to fit application at some point????

Looks to me like you have a D4400 engine on that tractor, given the location of the air cleaner. That would explain your observations. The rest of the tractor is looks like a U-series. It's not uncommon to find combinations like this, as the engines were basically interchangeable between the U and J and earlier
