Hi, new member was created by Nutlady
I have always enjoyed and appreciated old farm equipment, Recently finally aquired my grandfathers D2. My son on here as Tulare Nut, because I had a walnut processing plant called that got her going, Tractors are female, right? LOL. Anyway, my son was not really inspried farm wise........until the Cat. And something took over. We now adopted a D-6. Out of a junk pile going to scrap. He got it going in 1 week. He is self taught, as my father died before he was born. Watches you tube videoes. Now I have to figure out how to post videos.

Hi, Nutlady.
Welkum too ther 4um.

Posting videos: Write your post as you want it. Then copy the video URL and paste it where you want in your post. This usually brings up a box for you to (re)paste the URL in the box. Then click on 'submit'. The box should disappear and the link should 'magically' appear where you want it in your post. You can then submit your post, hopefully, complete with the video link.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Welcome! You can post video just as Deas has said and we look forward to it. Thanks for making the introduction and I hope we see you here regularly. do not forget to utilize the library, there are manuals for both your machines there. Don't be afraid to ask questions, and definitely post photos, we like pictures.

yes pictures allow us to live vicariously through others. not everyone has the room or the big fat wallet required for some of the larger and more unique machines.

I see a big FAT RD-7 coming into Nut Lady and TulareNut's lives next! It has been a pleasure to visit with both of you. You should share the newsletter article about the D2, it is an honor when a dealership will do a write up on their customer. Really cool, because you not only have the original magazine, you kept the tractor as well!
Glad to see the D6 alive again, and it will help clear the old walnut orchard and your son can make a huge hole in the soil to bury some of the $$$ from farming walnuts (Just kidding).
It is refreshing to see a young person take on these old crawlers as a hobby with so much enthusiasm. We hope to meet you at CAFES next year, if not sooner. JM

Welcome to the Land of Yellow Fever. The only curry is more yellow tractors.

I have a soft spot for walnuts. Never owned any trees, but the care of was a nice supplement to my other farming. The last 2 years have been brutal in dryland organic walnuts in Paso Robles.

Maybe not the best place , but for Kurt and JM. Ranchero magazine was a monthly or quarterly publication of Wallace Machinery Company. I don't know where you could find many, but would be good source of material for the ACMOC magazine. They had dealerships in Oxnard, Santa Maria, and Paso Robles. The Paso store was a combination John Deere- Cat dealership up to the end of Wallace Machinery. Some time in the 1970's they bought dealerships in the southern San Joaquín Valley. I want to say 1983 was when Wallace was sold to Quinn Caterpillar. I believe after Wallace expanded the dealership Ranchero magazine was discontinued, or my family was not a big enough customer to be kept on the mailing list. Most articles were about construction equipment, but if there was nothing happening on that side of business farm articles boasting about the longevity of Cat equipment would appear.
