Had a fascinating WhatsApp conversation with a guy in Germany who has restored the Russian version of the D7. His name is Jan Hofmann and his Instagram handle is @janhof.t100 if you’d like to see more. He’s written a very interesting article about the history of Caterpillar’s connection with Russia and about the restoration of his ChTZ T-100 and he’s graciously allowed me to upload it to the Technical Library. There’s also a history of the CHELYABINSK Tractor Plant that Caterpillar was instrumental in setting up. I’d highly recommend a read of these.
