I just want to pull the glued on paper off and see what is under it.

I have a Servicemen's Reference for a Twenty Five form # P-1179 that has several glued-in patches to correct model number problems.  I have posted some pictures of a few of them.  Some are easier to see than others.  I really would like to know what is under the one on the front cover and what the "Effective with tractor No." number is. I am guessing that it is PL63??

You could steam it off, to preserve it. You could x-ray it - that's what the museum guys do with manuscripts and paintings, etc.

Good idea, P1179 is listed as a Operators Manual for the Twenty Five, and several pages later it is also listed as the Serviceman's Reference book for the Twenty Tractor.

In the later part of the book it has pictures and talks about the Twenty Five style final drives with the bellow seals, not the packings like the late Twenties. What I am wondering is if the original plan was to update the Twenty and keep calling it the Twenty, but when the time came to do it, it was decided to rename it the Twenty Five. I have not wanted to steam it but curiosity might get the best of me
