I’ve got this what I believe to be a Twenty Eight manifold, but the part number on the manifold 1A4936 doesn’t match with the part number in the book 1A4957, is this a Twenty Eight manifold?

That's pretty common for the casting number to be off by a few numbers from the part number.
Story has it that the number of machine operations required to the raw casting helps define the final part number.

1A4936 is a manifold for the Twenty Eight, it is part of the manifold assembly 1A4957 which is shown in the Twenty Eight parts catalog.

It will also fit the late Twenty Five tractors.
