got it home. it does run 20 on the flat, less uphill, and too fast downhill - bounce!
cracked the bottom right door glass on the way home. is that something a local glass shop can fix?
the steering box weeped out the oil and gunk from the top. unknown cause
unfortunately the block doesn’t have the direct start provision. can’t find the sticky about the conversion. did find some info for the companies in tx. and mo.
the engine has a newer serial number.
there are no digits in the window for the hour meter

The engine is way older, not newer. The power steering box needs to be resealed. there is a cheat that can be done. You remove the vent and run a hose from the hole to the hydraulic tank to recirculate the oil. The door glass can be done by any glass shop.

I agree that it looks like a nice grader... scarifier and nice rubber!
I recently replaced some windows in my No. 12. Had the laminated glass (1/4") cut into rectangles and then cut the curves myself (to do it again I would have the glass company cut the curves).
The hard part was finding suitable rubber glass molding.

The engine is 1949. The reason for the raised area casted in the bell housing is because the Cat Model 12-6M series had direct electric start for the G4600 engine. Only 56 were built. Yours is a D318.
