What makes the difference is are they 12" bottoms or 16"? less hp for small bottoms, and soil type, "sail in sand and chug in clay". Here's a 180hp D7E with a ten and a five bottom plow. Try doing that with a 180 hp wheel tractor!

If you go to the "MACHINES" section (Yellow box at top) of this website you will find pictures of Robert's 10Ton, Fifty, Diesel Fifty and Seventy tractors taken a few years ago.

There were apparently 240 Cat tractors in the sale. Top price was £120,000 for a restored Holt 75 tractor, a Holt 75 parts tractor made £80,000. An immaculate Holt 10ton made £33,000.
A Holt model 36 combine made £22,000.
The gas SEVENTY made £32,000 and a right hand drive diesel 75 made £37,000.
To all the above prices, buyers premium of 6% had to be added then 25% VAT (Value Added Tax) on top of the new total, so prices paid by buyers were almost 30% higher than the above !
It was really great to meet up with so many Cat enthusiasts at a sale which will never be repeated in the UK.

Nice to meet up with so many cat people !!
Some ch2 members got fixed up with projects. And parts to finish existing ones
I got a PTO, some Magnetos , a 311 engine with pony , a very tidy D2 hood for my direct start tractor, and a complete fifteen ..
