gwoods, can someone give info on where to purchase valve springs for a d4 7u ( 7u11300 ) pony motor, I guess there are different blocks that might be used and will need serial number off of pony motor block. looked on eBay and called local cat dealer

you local cat dealer can order the valves for you. and they have the springs. i did state this in a post on the other topic!
if you have a parts book you can search
www.parts.cat.com for a listing if you register a user account you can get pricing and availability and even order for delivery to you directly or collection at your nearest dealer.
to order parts for cat equipment all you need is the part numbers. note for some of the older part numbers you need to add a zero or 2 after the letter prefix to make it 6 characters for the system to recognise it.

Called local cat dealing in Paducah, Ky and parts person could not help me, we did have Wayne supply but they got bought out, I know you had told the cat dealer should have the parts. I will call another cat dealer that might help. Thanks again for you help. Bear with me, I am not the sharpest.

the part numbers are:
3b6900 exhst valve
inlet valve 3b6899
valve guide 2a4113 retaning clip 2a4114
valve locks 2a4429(collet clips)
valve retainer 3b6898(collet)
top cover/intake runner gasket 5f9342
i cant stress this enough get yourself a parts book. without part numbers no one can help you!! if you a financial member of acmoc you will have access to the tech library and there is a part book in the library. still get your own copy.

i registered at parts.cat ages ago and was able to check stock at my nearest dealer and order the parts. yes the young counter jumpers often dont know they have stuff for these old girls. it can also help to tell them to look in the classic parts range. they mightn't have stock but can order in from any cat warehouse or dealers warehouse worldwide.
and you only need the serial number of your machine for instance mine is d4 6u6246 if you have a parts book you dont need that at all. you just give them the number.
a google search can also be helpful in finding updated part numbers as some parts are still used for later machines but were given different numbers. also some have simply been superseeded as upgrades were made.

Those pics of Florin Tractor are heart breaking. I was there in March to look around, meet Dana, Dennis and everyone else. The back yard was still full. Sad to see it all go.

Hi All,
Just got an email back from Dennis, and he told me that everything has now gone to scrap and all the buildings are empty.
Yes it is hard to take, but life moves on.
