I have recently obtained a very tidy D8 2u and 80 scoop, has been idle for 2 years, the first job for her has been blading some gravel piles ,full throttle ,good oil pressure and temp, every thing works well however jus the engine slobbers, and almost sounds like a misfire.can any one help , is this common for the 8 2u.? Does it just need working and see what develops? Any Info would be much appreciated.I have added a movie

Does it use oil Scott? What about when you're cranking the main engine, does it sound like one cylinder has weak compression? You can also check the injectors for spray pattern. Slobbering "usually" indicates oil getting past the piston rings. It's commonly attributed to glazed cylinders but you can also consider stuck or partially stuck/gummed up rings. Checking injectors is relatively easy - checking rings not so much but ultimately, if you're unhappy with the way it runs and you've checked out everything else, that's probably the next place to look

thanks I have given her some hard work and the slobbering seams to be settling down, doesn’t use oil or water,
