Your model 8T grader was one of the last of the 8Ts which ended production in 1957. The 80C and 70D/71D series No. 12s succeeded the 8Ts beginning in '57. Actually I think that the 80C series began production in 1955 and was a 24 volt direct start grader.
If your grader runs as good as it looks then you have a very nice grader. I have an 80C series grader that has the hydraulic blade shift. The only hydraulic functions on my grader are the steering and the blade shift.
You're getting the reference books, and it sounds like you are on the right path. Remember to take care of that pony motor; always check and change its oil frequently and run it out of gas to stop it so the gas empties from the carburetor and doesn't end up in the cylinders while sitting.

the basic idea of mounting the blade to the cradle hasnt changed much in 70yrs. they still use a similar system today. well if it aint broke why change it.
a very nice machine for her age.
