D4 7U Serial # 1894 Pivot shaft lube was created by d4angelo

I am unable to insert grease into my pivot shaft zerk fittings. The zerk fittings are clear and not plugged. There are 4 bolts that keep the caps ( one on each side) in place. Can I remove each cap, clean them up and retry? Are there any shims to worry about dropping? Appreciate any help.

Bushing may have turned so the holes are no longer lined up internally. I have gotten by drilling through the bushing again as a temporary fix.
