I am currently looking for info on the Toronto Tractor and Equipment Company of Toronto Ontario.I would like to know when they were in business.To my knowledge George Crothers was the only dealer for Cat in Ontario.Did Crothers take over for Toronto Tractor at some point? any info would be much appreciated

It looks like Toronto T&E only existed for a short period, but from what I have seen that was pretty common at the start of the Great Depression. Here is what I was able to piece together from the different dealer lists and directories:

8/1926 - F.H. Hopkins & Co. Ltd. adds a branch in Toronto to the one they already had in Montreal.
1/1927 - Ontario Tractor Co. Ltd., 297 Campbell St. is added as a dealer in Toronto
4/1927 - F.H. Hopkins & Co. branch in Toronto no longer listed
9/1929 - Ontario Tractor Co. still listed
4/1930 - Ontario Tractor Co. no longer listed, no dealer listed for Toronto
4/1931 - Toronto Tractor Co. Ltd, 510 King Street West is listed in Toronto
11/1931 - Toronto Tractor Co. no longer listed
11/1932 - General Supply Company of Canada, 347 Sorauren Ave. is listed as dealer in Toronto
3/1943 - General Supply still listed as dealer in Toronto
5/1944 - George W. Crothers Ltd. is listed as Cat dealer for Toronto
1993 - Toromont bought out Crothers
