D7E 48A10973 power shift transmission trouble

Yea I bleed it this afternoon and that didn’t help. Pressure made it up to 203 full throttle. Now I have been having a steering problem for quite some time. When the oil is cold steering works great but after about an hour or two when the oil starts to warm up the right hand steering clutch stops working properly, sometimes not at all and I just shut it down and come back later to finish when oil is cool again. Is it possible that what ever is causing the steering problem might have let loose and is causing a the pressure drop in the transmission?

Change your filter and check the magnetic screens for debris.

First thing I did was check the magnetic screen under the pump. It was clean, I’ll check the filters next. Thanks

I am more familiar with the D8's, they had 3 magnetic screens, however I think the D7E had 2, maybe the 2nd is under the seat or up the front left near the coolers, it will also need checking. You could have a shot pump if you did not grind the nose off or bevel the end of the pump shaft, if the splines were worn they would put a lot of end thrust on the pump. To suddenly stop driving then something has let go quickly, The steering clutch could be the nylock seals are worn possibly caused by worn bevel gear bearings.

I suspect a problem in the control valves.

If the filters and screens are clear would you recommend replacing the pump? The pump was replaced when the rebuilt transmission was installed a year and a half ago. Not sure if my mechanic did any modifications to the pump or shaft. I’ll give him a call today.

So it's been a while but I bought a service manual and pulled the top off the transmission. Oil was gushing out the right rear of transmission at the top. I called Roger at Tradewater Transmission in KY where I bought the rebuilt trans. He sent me all the replacement hydraulic valve parts I would need. After taking the valves out we saw that a roll pin holding a plug in one of the valves had sheered and the plug had blown out, Luckily we were able to fish the plug out with a magnet but the piece of roll pin is still in there somewhere. Put a new roll pin in to hold the plug and put the old valves back in. I put a couple hours on it the other day and it was working good. Thanks for the comments I received on this problem. The serial number is 48A10973 could someone tell me what year it was made?.
