With the nice rain I have spent more time lost on the net and looked at place that I generally don't go. I stumbled but  on to B & C Equipment that makes starter conversions that you remove the starting engine and the starter sits up in its place. They where talked of here years ago. I had  figured they where long gone, but still around.  catstarter.yolasite.com/?fbclid=IwAR1DbJ...YZyJ05i3PbbBKfvYZ3xo

Also came upon Auto- Lec Rebuilders that has the starter drive gears and the mounting plate to put alternators in place of the generators.   auto-lec.com/crawler-tractors/

I hope this is helpful to some of you. Probably needs to go in the list of sources for parts but this new version of the web site I could not find it again.

Thank you for finding these Ray,
I have created a post in "Website Links" on the forum so that should make it easier for others to find them in the future.

CC Battery in Corpus Christi makes a beautiful starter and bendix assembly for D9G, or you can get them separately.
When my bendix blew up they got me a new one right away. I later got a complete assembly for a backup and/or just to admire as a work of art.

What's more "beautiful and a work of art" is a good well maintained starting engine to prewarm and prelube the diesel engine!
