So finally got the new dozer into the field d7c 1960. Everything was going good pushing good steering clutches working, track brakes working till I tried to turn a little harder and the right track brake kind "pop" and now it will barely grab at the end of the peddle. Now it's dark and I can't tear into it. Did I really mess it up or just popped it out of adjustment.

Well they don't just 'pop' out of adjustment. It sounds like one of the threaded rod ends or a shaft linkage end gave up. Usually due to not being tight in the first place because I think you could apply 1000# on those pedals without drama.
Pray for something under the floor plates because the rod going back to the brakes is under the tank. As I am tearing a D7E down right now, I am learning new cuss words.

Good thought on the brake lining, and certainly possible! Yes, that would be an involved repair. If that is suspected, you probably don't want to be moving machine as the brake shoe could get chewed up and contaminate the system.

Reminds me a issue with my 3T D7. Clearing trees and the left pedal goes completely unresponsive. Pulled the left top access cover underneath fuel tank. Discovered one side of the brake assembly’s anchor pin had slipped completely out of place. Difficult to put back. You can do it if the problem ever does arise.

Just an update for you all, for some reason after the 10 years it was sitting the adjuster just popped to slack .... I opened up inspection panel and checked everything out n just readjusted it and works perfect. Dodged a bullet on this one
