Hi, SoCalCatMan.
Good stuff. Thanks for sharing, especially the photos. LURRRRVE the 'toenails' on that jigger.

That would be myself for the person who broke the lever. But I took the whole steering assembly off and brought it home to rob bushings and levers from a carcass. These were bent and had pipes welded onto the clutch and gear shift and were all worn out. Caterpillar made around 1700 or so 28s and I don’t know how many wide gauge, tailseat 28s were produced. This one is serial# 105.

I agree. The grouser extensions make the tractor look real nice. If everything works out, it should be at the National show next year, but with the correct mag, replaced levers and a few bugs worked out. Maybe with a terracer too if it all comes together.

Hi, SoCalCatMan.
If you make it to the National Show next year, look me up. I'll be the one in the yellow hi-vis shirt with the reflective stripes and wearing shorts and 'Japanese safety boots'. I may also be 'peddalling' a Cat D9T around the sand pit annoying a bunch of scraper operators.

I live on the ranch and help to put the shows together.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

That would be cool to see, it has to be one of very low production numbers.  Great work and thanks again for posting your tractor and your effort!
