Hi All: About 20 years ago I came across a D8 1H which had been parked in the 1980s and was missing a pony magneto. Fast forward and it's still there and the owner wants it gone. It is almost 500 miles from my place, but there is a wonderful museum of American ingenuity nearby that wants to have it on display due to its place in local history. I took a quick trip and some tools and spent a day getting lots of things unstuck and figure about 98% chance of getting it started next spring for the move. What I need is a magneto for it. Does anyone have a good complete (with impulse coupling) magneto that can be spared? Of course I'd prefer a hot one, but a rebuildable core would be OK as well. The 5F7494 is supposed to be a correct fit. Is the impulse coupler included? A cap gasket should be easy to fake if necessary. What's your price on it?
Thanks!

You can likely get the cap and gasket new Jeff. I just picked up one from Standard Magneto for $45. The impulse mechanism is "part" of the mag so it most likely is there but I'll defer to Hector to respond. Sounds like it has a good strong spark.

5F7494 is an American Bosch Replacement and needs the 4F2319 coupling. A 7F9934 American Bosch and 4F2319 coupling is also a replacement option for the original Eisemann RC-2Q but you need to have a s/n to match due to many applications.
5F7494 is an AB MJK 4/2 180 B311
7F9934 is an AB MJK 4/2 180 C311
Appears to listed for late 1H D8's 1H4744-up
Need the tractor S/N

The early 1Hs had a base mount mag and the late ones had a flange mount mag, if I remember. It would also depend on if the tractor still has its original staring engine or if it has been traded for a later version.

Sorry about the serial number. It was in the title to the picture and I assumed it would show. Silly me! It is 1H 3647. It has a flange mount setup, no base bracket. I also see in my parts book the pony has a later exhaust pipe setup between the pony manifold and the diesel manifold, so I might get tricked by a change as naylorbros mentioned.
I really appreciate all your replies since every bit of knowledge helps on this project.

Original flange mount mag for 1H3647 is an Eisemann 4B7767. Parts book says when a complete mag replacement is required use a 7F9934 which is the American Bosch Flange Mount MJK 4/2 180 C311. I have a complete (untested) mag if you are interested. PM me
